GLOSSARY OF TERMS
WINLEVEL of team X vs team Y - The shortest chain of wins that includes a win by Team X and a loss by Team Y.
transitive win (tw) - Team X is awarded a transitive win against Team Y if it has a lower winlevel versus Team Y than the winlevel of Team Y versus Team X.
transitive tie (tt) - Team X and Team Y are transitively tied if their winlevels are equal versus each other.
transitive no decision (tnd) - If there is no level at which Team X has a transitive victory over Team Y and there is no level at which Team Y has a transitive victory over Team X, then each team is awarded a TND versus the other team.
transitive winning Percentage (tpct) - The Transitive Winning Percentage of each team = (TW + TT/2)/(Teams - 1 - TND).
transitive losing Percentage (tlp) -The Transitive Losing Percentage of each team = 1 - TPCT.
winpoints (wp) - The Winpoints of Team X = sum of the TPCT of all the teams that Team X beat multiplied by the number of Games (G) that Team X played.
losspoints (lp) - The Losspoints of Team X = sum of the TLP of all the teams that defeated Team X multiplied by the number of Games (G) that Team X played.
earned wins (ew) - The Earned Wins for each team indicate the strength of the team's wins compared to other team's wins. EW = (WP - LP)/(G-1)+G/2.
earned winning percentage (epct) - The Earned Winning Percentage of each team = EW/G. EPCT is standardized according to the number of regular season games played by the typical team for the relevant season.
upset wins (uw) - The UW of Team X = the number of teams defeated by Team X that are ranked above Team X.
upset losses (ul) - The UL of Team X = the number of teams that defeated Team X that are ranked below Team X.
Positive ties (t+) - The (T+) of Team X = the number of teams that tied Team X that are ranked above Team X.
negative ties (t-) - The (T-) of Team X = the number of teams that tied Team X that are ranked below Team X.
plus/minus (pm) - The PM of each team = UW + (T+)/2 - UL - (T-)/2
